Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 09:59AM

DFM Foods(up 3.40%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 1.17%), Gillette India(up 1.01%), Dangee Dums(up 1.00%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.95%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.83%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.80%), Hindustan Foods(up 0.65%), Emami(up 0.59%) and Vadilal Industries(up 0.47%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 2.80%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 1.12%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.05%), Marico(down 0.88%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.83%), Nestle India(down 0.74%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.55%), Britannia Industries(down 0.55%), ADF Foods(down 0.54%) and Dabur India(down 0.52%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 12.3 points down at 18471.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 87.4 points at 62185.28 at around 09:59AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.98%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.55%), Axis Bank(up 1.11%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.06%), Coal India(up 0.98%),

Enterprises(up 0.8%), NTPC(up 0.65%), State Bank of India(up 0.63%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.61%) and Tata Motors(up 0.52%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever(down 1.05%), Grasim Industries(down 0.87%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.83%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.79%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.76%), Asian Paints(down 0.75%), Nestle India(down 0.74%), Cipla(down 0.66%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.64%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.63%) were trading in the red.
