Dow falls nearly 100 points on losses for American Express, Boeing stocks

Shares of American Express and Boeing are posting losses Thursday afternoon, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of American Express AXP, -3.58% and Boeing BA, -2.90% are contributing to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.08% was most recently trading 95 points (0.3%) lower. American Express’s shares are off $6.04, or 4.1%, while those of Boeing are off $4.24 (3.0%), combining for an approximately 68-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Goldman Sachs GS, -2.38%, Walt Disney DIS, -1.79%, and Nike NKE, -1.29%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.59-point swing.
