Nike, Travelers share losses contribute to Dow's 250-point drop

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down Tuesday morning with shares of Nike and Travelers seeing the biggest losses for the index. The Dow DJIA, -1.12% was most recently trading 254 points (0.8%) lower, as shares of Nike NKE, -3.90% and Travelers TRV, -2.67% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. Nike’s shares have dropped $3.66 (3.4%) while those of Travelers are down $3.50 (2.1%), combining for a roughly 47-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Caterpillar CAT, -2.33%, Dow Inc. DOW, -1.95%, and Home Depot HD, -2.06%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.59-point swing.
