Dow falls nearly 325 points on losses for Nike, Caterpillar shares

Behind declines for shares of Nike and Caterpillar, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is in a selloff Tuesday afternoon. Shares of Nike NKE, -4.47% and Caterpillar CAT, -2.26% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -1.01% was most recently trading 321 points, or 1.0%, lower. Nike’s shares have fallen $4.67 (4.4%) while those of Caterpillar are off $4.22 (2.3%), combining for an approximately 59-point drag on the Dow. Home Depot HD, -2.23%, Salesforce Inc. CRM, -1.98%, and Travelers TRV, -2.03% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.59-point swing.
