Walmart, Salesforce Inc. share losses contribute to Dow's 218-point fall

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Tuesday afternoon with shares of Walmart and Salesforce Inc. delivering the stiffest headwinds for the price-weighted average. The Dow DJIA, -0.71% was most recently trading 218 points lower (-0.7%), as shares of Walmart WMT, -7.60% and Salesforce Inc. CRM, -3.85% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. Walmart’s shares are down $10.69, or 8.1%, while those of Salesforce Inc. have declined $7.45, or 4.2%, combining for a roughly 120-point drag on the Dow. Nike NKE, -3.73%, Microsoft MSFT, -2.68%, and American Express AXP, -2.57% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.59-point swing.
