JPMorgan Chase, Travelers share losses contribute to Dow's nearly 300-point fall

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading down Thursday afternoon with shares of JPMorgan Chase and Travelers delivering the stiffest headwinds for the price-weighted average. Shares of JPMorgan Chase JPM, -3.49% and Travelers TRV, -4.68% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.46% was most recently trading 293 points (1.0%) lower. JPMorgan Chase’s shares have fallen $4.73 (4.2%) while those of Travelers have declined $6.84, or 4.2%, combining for a roughly 76-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Goldman Sachs GS, -2.95%, Caterpillar CAT, -2.26%, and Chevron CVX, -1.49%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
