Dragged down by negative returns for shares of Dow Inc. and Goldman Sachs, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is slumping Friday afternoon. Shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -6.06% and Goldman Sachs GS, -5.65% are contributing to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -2.73% was most recently trading 808 points, or 2.5%, lower. Dow Inc.’s shares have dropped $3.84, or 5.8%, while those of Goldman Sachs have fallen $16.59, or 5.5%, combining for an approximately 135-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Boeing BA, -5.03%, Salesforce Inc. CRM, -4.63%, and Microsoft MSFT, -4.46%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
