Verizon Communications Inc., Chevron share losses lead Dow's 200-point fall

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Monday afternoon with shares of Verizon Communications Inc. and Chevron facing the biggest drops for the price-weighted average. The Dow DJIA, -0.53% was most recently trading 208 points (0.6%) lower, as shares of Verizon Communications Inc. VZ, -4.45% and Chevron CVX, -3.88% are contributing to the index’s intraday decline. Verizon Communications Inc.’s shares have dropped $2.24 (4.3%) while those of Chevron are off $5.95, or 3.7%, combining for a roughly 54-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Nike NKE, -2.47%, Dow Inc. DOW, -1.96%, and Walgreens Boots WBA, -1.89%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.59-point swing.
