JPMorgan Chase, American Express share losses lead Dow's nearly 100-point fall

Behind losses for shares of JPMorgan Chase and American Express, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down Wednesday morning. The Dow DJIA, -0.50% was most recently trading 91 points (0.3%) lower, as shares of JPMorgan Chase JPM, -2.62% and American Express AXP, -3.40% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. JPMorgan Chase’s shares have fallen $3.65, or 2.2%, while those of American Express have fallen $3.85, or 2.2%, combining for an approximately 49-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include McDonald’s MCD, -1.50%, Apple Inc. AAPL, -1.22%, and Travelers TRV, -0.93%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.58-point swing.
