American Express, JPMorgan Chase share losses contribute to Dow's 100-point fall

Behind losses for shares of American Express and JPMorgan Chase, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Wednesday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, -0.16% was most recently trading 104 points, or 0.3%, lower, as shares of American Express AXP, -3.99% and JPMorgan Chase JPM, -2.46% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. American Express’s shares have declined $7.43 (4.3%) while those of JPMorgan Chase have fallen $4.14, or 2.5%, combining for an approximately 76-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Visa V, -2.05%, McDonald’s MCD, -1.02%, and Apple Inc. AAPL, -1.04%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow results in a 6.58-point swing.
