Dow falls nearly 150 points on losses in Amgen Inc., Intel stocks

Behind losses for shares of Amgen Inc. and Intel, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Tuesday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, -0.34% was most recently trading 143 points (0.4%) lower, as shares of Amgen Inc. AMGN, -2.33% and Intel INTC, -2.38% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. Amgen Inc.’s shares are down $5.17, or 2.5%, while those of Intel are down $1.33 (2.5%), combining for an approximately 43-point drag on the Dow. Verizon Communications Inc. VZ, -1.63%, Johnson & Johnson JNJ, -1.60%, and Caterpillar CAT, -1.54% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
