Chevron, Boeing share gains lead Dow's 240-point climb

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Thursday morning with shares of Chevron and Boeing leading the way for the blue-chip average. Shares of Chevron CVX, +1.16% and Boeing BA, +1.41% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.28% is trading 240 points (0.7%) higher. Chevron’s shares are up $2.16 (2.0%) while those of Boeing have risen $4.71, or 1.9%, combining for an approximately 45-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Merck MRK, +2.53%, Intel INTC, +0.44%, and Walgreens Boots WBA, +1.88%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
