Chelsea are the outsiders of the bunch at 12s to bring Aarons to Stamford Bridge to compete with Reece James for a starting role.

“Looking at the betting market, Manchester United are the odds-on favourites to sign the youngster at 8/11, while Barcelona are 3/1 and Spurs are 5/1.”

Old Trafford officials have discussed the possibility of signing Aarons during the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old has been on United’s radar for several months after some excellent top-flight displays for Norwich.

Aarons made 36 appearances for the Canaries during the 2019-20 campaign, providing two assists against Tottenham and Leicester.

Solskjaer wants cover at full-back after loaning Diogo Dalot to AC Milan but Norwich have the advantage in negotiations with Aarons contracted until June 2024.

The England Under-21 international is thought to be worth around £20m.
