Dow's nearly 50-point fall led by losses for Goldman Sachs, American Express stocks

Dragged down by negative returns for shares of Goldman Sachs and American Express, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Friday morning. The Dow DJIA, -0.31% was most recently trading 48 points, or 0.2%, lower, as shares of Goldman Sachs GS, -2.52% and American Express AXP, -1.86% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. Goldman Sachs’s shares are off $5.89 (2.4%) while those of American Express are off $2.22, or 1.8%, combining for an approximately 53-point drag on the Dow. Intel INTC, -1.73%, Apple Inc. AAPL, -1.72%, and Travelers TRV, -1.42% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow results in a 6.58-point swing.
